Visual Rescue Service

We are a media and communication unit at Atlantic College, that trains students in a range of technical skills, including analogue and digital photography as well as (digital) video.
We aim to serve the College community by capturing, editing and publishing images and video, for the purpose of teaching and publicity and in response to requests from students and staff, and by keeping a record of life and events at the College.
At the same time, these skills are also made available to help with projects in the community outside the College.

Visual service is creative and inspiring.

DIGITAL video rescue video rescue video rescue

In this section of the service, students work mainly with digital photography, and editing images. They also do some studio photography.
However, other skills are gained throughout the course of the two years.
Students begin to learn HTML and experiment with web page design by designing web pages for summer projects. The w3S Web Design Activity is run as a part of Visual Service.

VIDEO video rescue
This section of the service focuses on video capturing and editing.
Despite many continuous ongoing projects, the highlight is the anual
production of the college year video. A lot of field work documentation and editing is done from the first day right through to a few hours of preview to
ensure a quality final product which is wideley appreciated
ANALOGUE This is yet another interesting section of visual rescue where the students do analogue photography.
They also learn how to do their own printing in the dark.
